It’s that time of the year again where we welcome legendary wine critic Matthew Jukes to host a selection of around half of his 100-best Australian wines of the year, this annual event is to highlight the wines featured in Matthews annual list of the 100-best Australian wines, which has now become the bible for what is hot in Australia. This is always one of the most popular events of the year, as usual there will be a broad selection of wines from several top producers and at various price points from some of the best entry level wines to some of the most iconic in Australia. This year we have decided to make the tasting a bit more intimate, so we have changed the venue to Hotel du Vin where we will take over the courtyard, which makes a fantastic setting for a wine tasting, but it does mean the tickets are more limited than usual.
For those of you who don’t know Matthew Jukes, he is one of the most respected wine critics, and is one of the world’s leading authorities on Australian wines. He will be attending the event and will mingle and answer any questions you may have regarding the wines. He has such a vast knowledge on Australian wines, and can answer any questions you have about Aussie wines, and is just a generally top bloke.
This is always one of our favourite tastings of the year, and the only opportunity to try such an eclectic and broad range of what Australia has to offer, the list will offer some of the big names in Shiraz and Cabernet as well as some of the quirkier varieties that are now planted in Australia. The event is a drop-in format which will run from 5:30pm-8:30pm, but you don’t need to be here right at the beginning and there will be plenty of wine to last the night.
