Graham’s, Dow’s & Warre’s Port and Wine Tasting Dinner
I am really looking forward to hosting one of the legendary family Port estates for what
should be a wonderful Port dinner to warm up the cold winter nights. We welcome the
magnificent winemaker from Graham’s Henry Shotton who will talk you through the Port he
makes, as well as the other flagship family Estates including Warre’s and Dow’s. The three
Port Estates have bags of history, and in the tasting, you will be taken through the
interesting history of Port, and how it became a drink synonymous with the British, and fine
This tasting will include canapes and an aperitif to start the night off, followed by a four-
course meal expertly paired with wine and port by us and the guys at Opus. We will take
you through the different ages of the wines as well as looking at the different styles of Port.
You will also get the rare opportunity to try all three houses flagship vintage Port from the
same year, so you will be able to see how although the Ports are part of the same house
each house has its own unique style.
This really will be a unique tasting experience, and one that should give you a better
understanding of Port, and one of the most famous wine institutions in the world. It will be
well worth coming out on a Wednesday and going to work with a slightly sore head on the
Thursday – when such a winemaking legend says he can only do Wednesday you need to
jump at the opportunity!
