We are delighted to welcome Frederico Bertani for what promises to be a captivating tasting, where he will share the rich history of Bertani, one of Italy’s most esteemed and historic wine producers. During the event, we will explore a selection of their distinguished wines, including the Vintage Edition Secco, which is remarkably the first dry wine produced in the region when sweet wines dominated. Additionally, we will sample the Soave Vintage, initially crafted for the wedding of King George V.
A particular highlight of the tasting will be a vertical comparison of three vintages of Bertani’s iconic Amarone Classico, featuring the highly acclaimed 100-point 2015 vintage alongside the 2008 and 1994. This will offer a unique opportunity to experience the evolution and ageing potential of this exceptional wine over time.
We will finish the evening with a Recioto, which is the historical dessert wine from the region.
About Bertani
Bertani has a rich history that goes all the way back to 1857, when two brothers, Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, founded the winery in Italy’s Veneto region. Gaetano, who had picked up some winemaking techniques during his time in France, brought those ideas home and mixed them with local traditions to create some truly outstanding wines. Before long, Bertani was making a name for itself, even supplying wine to the Italian royal family by the early 1900s. One of their biggest claims to fame is their role in shaping the production of Amarone della Valpolicella, a wine style they’ve really mastered. With its long-standing commitment to quality and innovation, Bertani continues to be a top name in Italian winemaking, picking up awards and recognition along the way.
