Vajra are one of the legends of Barolo, and although they are relatively modern, produce a style that is world beating. Vajra always manage to get a real fine touch to the winemaking which means that the wines are elegant and refined, whist also having the classic grippy Nebbiolo tannin, backed up by wonderful precise fruit. I always say go for a Langhe Nebbiolo from a top producer over the Barolo of a poor producer. This will give you better value than any Barolo at the same price.
