Planeta Olive Oil

Planeta Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a high-quality, cold-pressed oil that is made from 100% Nocellara del Belice olives, which are handpicked from the Planeta family’s estate in Sicily, Italy. The Planeta family has been producing olive oil in Sicily for generations and is known for their commitment to sustainable and organic farming practices.

Planeta Extra Virgin Olive Oil is full of fresh fruity, grassy and herbaceous notes, but not too overpowering and works so well with many dishes.  On the palate, it is rich and complex, with a silky texture and a balanced blend of bitterness and spiciness. The oil has a bright green colour, which is a sign of its freshness and high quality. The flavours are complex and layered, with hints of artichoke, almond, and black pepper. A place called Capparrina in Menfi region has always been a part of the Planeta family.

Here, 98 hectares are allocated to the olive groves that slope from the hill all the way to Porto Palo’s beach. An additional 50 hectares were planted since 2017 as part of a significant effort to improve the quality of the oil and preserve the surrounding environment.

Today it is a “Capparrina’s Oasis”: a protected area for a Mediterranean environment on the sea where native and untouched flora and animals surround and cohabit with the olive trees.
