Australian Icons tasting at GWA

This tasting is always a highlight of the year, a whopping 12, fully mature iconic wines, most not available to purchase anywhere in the world!

We are delighted to welcome back Jo Clarkson who has been collecting fine Australian wine for about 15 years. Australian wine is underrated and he is on a mission to show people just how amazing premium Australian wine can be. Over the years he’s learnt a lot about the regions & the winemakers of Australia and in the wine tastings and will be sharing that knowledge with you and sharing some of the finest wines from his cellar. Australian wines are drunk far too early, but all the wines you’ll taste in the tasting will be wine that has already been cellared for many years and in its prime drinking window. This means you’ll be tasting anything from 7-20 year old wines, made my true artisans, true masters of their craft, wine that is world class by any standard.

We’ll be tasting 12 wines, a fizz, a white and an abundance of amazing reds before finishing with three truly iconic Australian Wines. These icons are the very finest (and rarest) from my cellar from the most iconic wine houses in Australia.We’ll also taste a newer and older vintage wine together so you can see what bottle age & cellaring does to a wine and we’ll be blind tasting a ‘mystery wine’ too.

This tastings is informal, informative, interactive, but most importantly, fun.

Note: We’re keeping the numbers for the tasting to 12 people (as well as Jo and Phil Innes – the owner of Loki) so that you’ll get a decent taste of every wine. No-one goes home thirsty (or sober) from this tasting.
