Online Wine Tastings

Our online wine tastings first took off during Covid, but proved far too popular to leave there. Years later, they’re still going strong, with the ever-popular combination of cheese and wine leading the way. They’re great fun to host, have gathered a wonderfully loyal following and remain one of our favourite ways to bring people together over a few good bottles.

Online tastings mean we can invite winemakers and guest speakers from all over the world, including those who can’t easily travel to the UK.

Over the years, we’ve been joined by an amazing selection of winemakers and guest speakers from all over the world, including Ken Forrester from South Africa, Anthony Symington from Portugal and many Australian winemakers who were happy to get up at 4am to join us. Alongside our guests, you’ll usually find Loki owner and wine expert Phil leading the tasting, with cheese expert Will from Anderson & Hill talking us through the cheeses.

The monthly tasting itself takes place on Zoom, usually from 6pm to 7.30pm. You’ll join on mute, which means you can chat freely with whoever you’re tasting with, and there’s no pressure to have your camera on, though it does make it  more fun! You can simply pour a glass and enjoy the evening, or get involved through the Zoom chat by asking questions, sharing your thoughts and talking to our experts.

If you choose the cheese pairing, you can also look forward to Will’s passionate, informative and increasingly poetic introductions to each cheese as the evening progresses.

And if you can’t make the live tasting, don’t worry. We’ll send you a recording afterwards, so you can open the bottles and enjoy the whole experience whenever it suits you.
