The Great Wine Regions Series – Part 1: Rioja & Ribera del Duero
We’re kicking off The Great Wine Regions Series with our very first destination: Spain!
This is a completely new format for Loki – a 12-part series of masterclasses designed for wine lovers who want a deeper, more structured understanding of the world’s great regions, without the commitment of a formal WSET course. Maybe you don’t want to study all wine regions, but you’d love to dive into a few in more depth. That’s exactly what this series is for!
Unlike our usual tastings, which blend fun with knowledge, these sessions put the focus firmly on learning. But don’t worry – with Radu Vasile (our in-house educator and Rioja-certified specialist) leading the way, they’re anything but dull. Expect engaging teaching, lively discussion, and of course, plenty of fantastic wine!
About the Masterclass
Join us as we explore the iconic regions of Rioja and Ribera del Duero – two powerhouses of Tempranillo, tradition, and terroir.
Led by our in-house educator and Rioja certified specialist, Radu Vasile, this session will guide you through the structure, style, and soul of these Spanish classics. Expect clarity, expertise, and more than a few “aha” moments as we explore what makes each region unique. In this structured 3-hour session we’ll include an engaging presentation and guided tasting, where you’ll learn how to identify key aromas and flavours in wine, and deepen your understanding of regional styles.
