The Great Wine Regions Series – Part 2: Northern Italy

Part Two of Our 12-Part Masterclass: The Great Wine Regions Series
From the limestone hills of Barolo to the dramatic slopes of Alto Adige, Northern Italy is home to some of Europe’s most thrilling and diverse wines. This masterclass will take you through the cool-climate elegance, altitude-driven aromatics, and deep-rooted traditions that define Italy’s northern regions.
Led by Radu Vasile, our in-house wine educator, this session dives deep into what makes Northern Italy so complex, unique, and age-worthy. Expect clarity, expertise, and more than a few “aha” moments as we explore why the wines of Alto Adige, Friuli, Soave, Valpolicella, Barolo, and Barbaresco continue to inspire wine lovers worldwide.
About the Masterclass
This structured three-hour session combines engaging teaching, lively discussion, and guided tasting. You’ll learn how altitude, soil, and grape variety shape the wines of Northern Italy, while comparing traditional and modern approaches across famous appellations.
With Radu’s guidance, you’ll also sharpen your tasting technique, learning how to identify aromatic structure, acid balance, and tannin style. To bring the regions to life, we’ll enjoy regional Italian nibbles alongside the wines.
