About Prosecco & Valdobbiadene
Prosecco has its roots in the rolling hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene, where the Glera grape thrives in a patchwork of steep vineyards. While Prosecco DOC covers a broad area of production, the DOCG wines of Valdobbiadene and Conegliano represent the highest quality, with stricter regulations, smaller yields, and greater attention to terroir.
Within these hills lies Cartizze, a prized sub-zone often described as the “Grand Cru” of Prosecco, known for wines of exceptional depth and finesse. If you’d like to learn more about the history of this region, visit the Prosecco DOCG Consortium.
