We have, all the way from Australia Wendy Stimpson from Passel Estate from Margaret River in Australia. She will be showcasing her full range of wines. These wines have taken the world by storm, garnering lots of interest from wine critics globally, and have been listed as an estate to try by Matthew Jukes and Jancis Robinson.
The Margaret River wine region is located in the remote southwest corner of Australia. It stretches 100km from north to south, surrounded by ocean on three sides. The maritime influence on premium viticulture within the region is undeniable; grapes benefit from ample sunlight hours during ripening, whilst the cooling sea breezes moderate temperature. With a reliable maritime-based Mediterranean climate and ancient gravel soils, Margaret River is blessed with ideal conditions for fine wine production. Its wines are known for their fruit purity, elegance, structure and consistency. Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay are the region’s flagship varieties.
During the tasting you will be some of the first people in the UK to try the IWSC Margaret River trophy winning wine the 2018 Lot 71 Cabernet Sauvignon. Described by the judges as: “An elegant, balanced wine with perfumed aromas of crushed herbs and red fruits. The palate has crisp bramble notes with hints of tar, truffle, and spice that are layered and complex. A well-crafted wine with masterful precision of flavours.”
