Meet Matthew Jukes – Australia’s Wine Authority
With more than 35 years in the UK wine trade, Matthew Jukes is widely regarded as one of the most knowledgeable voices in Australian wine. He is the author of 14 wine books and several highly influential annual publications, including the internationally acclaimed 100 Best Australian Wines Report. His tasting notes and recommendations are followed closely by wine professionals and enthusiasts around the globe.
Each year, Matthew tastes 4,000–5,000 Australian wines, selecting only the very finest 100. These wines range from outstanding everyday bottles to world-class fine wines. Notably, only three wineries (Penfolds, Tyrrell’s, and Yalumba) have appeared in every report, a testament to their consistent quality and innovation.

This event is one of only four Matthew Jukes Australian wine festivals in the UK. Guests will enjoy a walk-around tasting of around 50 wines, representing roughly half of Matthew’s current top 100 selections. The line-up spans sparkling, white, red, and fortified wines from across Australia.
