About Old World vs New World Wines

The term “Old World” refers to traditional wine-growing regions of Europe, such as France, Italy, and Spain, where centuries of heritage define winemaking style. Wines are often more restrained, terroir-driven, and elegant.

By contrast, the “New World” covers regions such as Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Chile, Argentina, and the USA, where winemakers embrace innovation, climate diversity, and bold flavours. Both traditions offer extraordinary wines – and when tasted side by side, the differences are eye-opening.
