Zin & Grill – Loki Wine x Village Kitchen

Late summer calls for bold flavours – and nothing delivers quite like California Zinfandel with a smoky grill.
This September, we’re teaming up with our neighbours Village Kitchen, to bring you Zin & Grill – a relaxed afternoon of bold, flavour-packed wines paired with smoky, grilled perfection.
This event is part of the California Wines Zin & Grill series – because California Zinfandel is the perfect partner to summer grilling.
About Village Kitchen
Village Kitchen is run by Andy, who trained at the College of Food at BCU, and together with his partner Caroline has worked in prestigious restaurants and hotels across the UK, France and Australia. After establishing their catering business Festen in 2018, lockdown became a turning point when their weekly menus for at-home dining built a loyal following in Edgbaston and Harborne. Their signature homemade pies and quiches became a highlight of the local Artisan Market on Greenfield Crescent, and in May 2024 they took over Village Kitchen. While keeping the much-loved DNA of the café, they’ve been introducing more of their own recipes and creative menu ideas – always fresh, homemade, and full of flavour.
The Wines
You’ll enjoy three incredible California Zinfandels (75ml each):
- Bogle Old Vine Zinfandel – rich, jammy fruit and spice.
- Orin Swift “8 Years in the Desert” – iconic, powerful, and unforgettable.
- Kendall-Jackson Zinfandel – ripe berries with a silky finish.
The Grill
Village Kitchen will fire up the grill for a mouth-watering plate featuring:
- A kofte skewer
- 1–2 smoky ribs
- A couple of tender beef slices
- Fresh, vibrant salads
All homemade, freshly prepared, and bursting with flavour.
