Part Eleven of our 12-part masterclass: The Great Wine Regions Series, Oregon, Washington & Canada – Cool Climate Precision and New World Identity
North America is far more than California. Oregon, Washington State, and Canada have emerged as some of the most exciting cool-climate wine regions in the world, producing wines with freshness, precision, and a strong sense of place. From Oregon’s elegant Pinot Noir to Washington’s structured reds and Canada’s world-class Icewine, this masterclass explores how climate, latitude, and innovation shape a completely different side of North American wine.
Led by Radu Vasile, our in-house wine educator, this session offers a clear and structured understanding of these rapidly evolving regions. Expect practical comparisons, engaging discussion, and plenty of “aha” moments as we connect geography, grape variety, and winemaking style to what you taste in the glass.
About the Masterclass

This structured three-hour session combines guided tasting with deep-dive learning into the climates, regions, and wines of Oregon, Washington, and Canada. You’ll explore how Pacific influence, mountain rain shadows, and extreme seasonal variation shape ripeness, acidity, and aromatic expression across these cooler New World regions.
With Radu’s guidance, you’ll sharpen your tasting technique, learning how to assess balance, freshness, oak integration, aromatic purity, and cool-climate structure. To bring the regions to life, we’ll enjoy North American-inspired nibbles alongside the wines.
