AIX Rosé: Provence in a Glass

AIX Rosé is one of those bottles that instantly makes you think of long lunches, sunshine and seafood on the table. Elegant, pale and beautifully refreshing, it is a classic Provençal rosé with plenty of charm, made for easy drinking but with enough character to keep things interesting.

Produced by Maison Saint Aix in the AOP Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, the wine comes from a 75-hectare estate set high in the Provençal landscape, close to the Sainte-Victoire mountain. The vineyards enjoy abundant Mediterranean sunshine, cooling Mistral winds and noticeably cooler nights thanks to their altitude. Combined with limestone and clay-sandy soils, these conditions encourage slow, even ripening while helping the grapes retain the freshness that defines the AIX style.

AIX brings together the classic Provençal varieties Grenache, Syrah and Cinsault, combining juicy fruit, gentle spice and a lovely crisp finish. The grapes are harvested during the cool early hours of the morning to protect their freshness and delicate aromas, before careful, gentle pressing and cool fermentation.

What makes AIX Rosé stand out is its balance. It has that clean, refreshing quality people love in Provence rosé, but it also has a smooth, rounded texture that makes it feel a little more generous. It is light and elegant, but not thin or forgettable. The estate’s elevated vineyards, sitting at around 420 metres above sea level, also help give the wine its characteristic freshness and long, mineral finish.

In the glass, expect fresh aromas of wild strawberry, raspberry, peach and citrus, with a pretty floral lift and a subtle hint of Provençal herbs. The palate is dry, silky and crisp, with juicy red berry fruit, delicate stone fruit and a light mineral edge. The finish is fresh, clean and very moreish, making it just as good as an aperitif as it is with food.

AIX Rosé Food Pairing Suggestion:

AIX Rosé is a lovely match for grilled seafood, especially prawns, sea bass or scallops with lemon, olive oil and fresh herbs. It also works beautifully with Niçoise salad, charcuterie, grilled chicken, tomato-based dishes and summery vegetable plates. Its combination of ripe fruit, freshness and subtle mineral character means it can comfortably carry on through a meal rather than being reserved purely for the first glass.

  1. Sandy J. –

Lovely, light and refreshing Provence rosé. Fruity and fragrant, very smooth and definitely not sweet. Great chilled before dinner, but also really easy with salads, fish or even steak. A proper hot summer favourite
