Chateau Lestrille Capmartin Blanc, Producer
Château Lestrille is a family-run estate in Saint-Germain-du-Puch, at the northern edge of the Entre-Deux-Mers in Bordeaux. It has been in the Roumage family since the early 1900s, now managed by Estelle Roumage, who combines tradition with modern practices. The vineyard is farmed with a strong respect for the environment, sustainable and biodiverse agriculture, with hedges between rows, reduced chemical input, and careful canopy management, to ensure fruit of the highest quality.
Chateau Lestrille Capmartin Blanc, Terroir & Winemaking
The vineyard soils are typical of Entre-Deux-Mers, allowing good drainage and a balance of minerality. Grapes are harvested at full maturity. For Capmartin Blanc, there is about 24 hours of skin contact before pressing, followed by cold settling and fermentation (in part) in new French oak barrels. The wine is aged on fine lees with regular bâtonnage to build texture, while preserving freshness and aromatic purity.
Chateau Lestrille Capmartin Blanc, Tasting Notes
Château Lestrille Capmartin Blanc opens with a refined bouquet of white peach, pear, and delicate exotic fruit, underpinned by hints of honey, vanilla and subtle toasty notes from the oak. On the palate the wine shows a lively citrus freshness, complemented by creamy texture from lees aging, with stone fruit and apricot flavours coming through. The finish is long, smooth, and balanced, rich yet with enough acidity to keep it clean and graceful.
Food pairing suggestion: A chicken supreme with tarragon cream.
