Elegant, powerful, and gastronomic, Le Black Réserve offers Champagne lovers a refined interpretation of Lanson’s timeless savoir-faire.
About Lanson
Founded in 1760, Champagne Lanson is one of the oldest Champagne Houses, with more than 260 years of winemaking heritage in the heart of Reims. Known for its bright, pure style, Lanson remains faithful to traditional methods: notably its rare decision not to undergo malolactic fermentation, a technique that preserves natural acidity and freshness. The House’s wines are celebrated for their precision, longevity, and consistency across vintages. Sustainability and respect for nature are at the core of its philosophy, with the vineyards of Lanson’s growers now certified High Environmental Value (HVE) and Sustainable Viticulture in Champagne (VDC).
Champagne Lanson Le Black Reserve Winemaking
Le Black Réserve is the fruit of an intricate blend of 50% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay, and 15% Pinot Meunier sourced from over 80 Crus, including 49 Grand and Premier Cru villages, an exceptional range that brings structure, finesse, and aromatic complexity. Around 45% of reserve wines, some aged for more than 10 years in oak, are included in the blend, lending texture and maturity.
Aged for a minimum of five years in Lanson’s historic chalk cellars beneath Reims, the cuvée develops its signature harmony between richness and tension. True to the house style, no malolactic fermentation takes place, allowing the wine’s mineral backbone and lively citrus notes to shine through. The result is a Champagne that balances vibrant energy with creamy depth: a cuvée crafted expressly for fine dining.
Champagne Lanson Le Black Label Reserve Tasting Notes
Brilliant gold in hue, Le Black Réserve reveals delicate, persistent bubbles. Aromas of brioche, toasted almonds, honey, and sweet spice mingle with subtle hints of citrus and dried fruits. On the palate, it is generous and structured, with flavours of baked apple, marzipan, candied lemon, and chalky minerality. The long, savoury finish combines richness and freshness in perfect balance.
Food pairing suggestion: Serve chilled (6–8 °C) with roast guinea fowl and hazelnut jus.

Lanson’s signature cross emblem (proudly displayed on every bottle) is inspired by the Maltese Cross, a symbol of the Order of Malta. It represents the values of courage, honour, and openness, and has become a hallmark of authenticity and integrity for the House.
