Château de Fesles Rosé d’Anjou is a delicate and well-balanced rosé from the Loire Valley, France, offering a refreshing expression of the region’s cool climate. Made primarily from Grolleau, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Franc and Gamay, this rosé showcases the fruity and floral characteristics typical of Anjou wines. The result is a wine that is both fresh and lively, yet with a subtle depth and complexity that sets it apart from more straightforward rosé styles.

Château de Fesles
Château de Fesles is an historic estate located in the heart of the Anjou region of the Loire Valley, a region known for its diverse array of wine styles. The château has a rich history dating back to the 19th century, with the vineyards planted on ancient schist and limestone soils that impart a distinctive minerality to the wines. Today, the estate is known for producing wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region, combining traditional practices with modern techniques to achieve the perfect balance of freshness and complexity. The winery is committed to sustainable practices and minimal intervention, allowing the grapes to express their true character in the final wine.

This Rosé comes from vineyards located along the Loire River, benefiting from the region’s temperate climate and its varied soils. The Grolleau grape, a key component of this rosé, thrives in this environment, offering bright acidity and red fruit aromas. The estate’s vineyards are planted on schistous soils, which provide excellent drainage and contribute to the wine’s finesse and minerality. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness and undergo a gentle pressing to extract the delicate flavours. The wine is then fermented in stainless steel to preserve its fresh, vibrant character, with minimal oak influence to ensure the focus remains on the purity of the fruit.

Château de Fesles Rosé d’Anjou is pale pink in colour with hints of peach and salmon. The nose is fresh and aromatic, with notes of ripe red berries, particularly strawberry and raspberry, complemented by subtle floral aromas of rose petal and white blossom. On the palate, the wine is dry yet smooth, with a crisp acidity that highlights the bright fruit character. Flavours of fresh red fruits, such as cherry and currant, are balanced by a hint of citrus zest, giving the wine a refreshing edge. The finish is clean and harmonious, leaving a lingering touch of minerality and fruit.

Food pairing suggestion: grilled seafood, goat cheese, or a fresh Mediterranean salad.
