Join us at Loki Edgbaston for our most popular event: the Cheese and Wine Tasting. Spend a Saturday afternoon discovering both timeless classics and exciting new pairings in a fun, relaxed, and educational setting.
Guided by one of Loki’s expert hosts, you’ll taste seven wines from our curated collection, each paired with an artisan cheese sourced from our favourite suppliers. Six Cheese & Wine Tastings to Explore
We currently have six different volumes of our Cheese & Wine Tasting, each with its own selection of wines, cheeses and flavour combinations. So, if you have joined us before, your next tasting will not necessarily be the same. Simply book a different volume and enjoy a fresh set of pairings.
Below, you’ll find a sample description from one of our volumes.
Sample Pairing
- English Sparkling Blanc de Blancs with Baron Bigod – vibrant acidity and fine bubbles cut through the rich, Brie-style creaminess while enhancing the cheese’s delicate mushroom notes
- Soave Classico with Taleggio – almond, citrus and gentle minerality balance the cheese’s pungent, washed-rind character without overwhelming its creamy texture
- Assyrtiko with Manchego Curado – piercing acidity and volcanic minerality refresh the palate while complementing the cheese’s nutty, savoury sheep’s milk flavours
- Rosé from Tavel with Morbier – structured red fruit and subtle spice match the cheese’s earthy character and creamy, supple texture
- Ribera del Duero Reserva with Lincolnshire Poacher – dark berry fruit, oak spice and firm tannins stand up to the cheese’s powerful cheddar-like intensity and lingering savoury finish
- Pinot Noir from Central Otago with Saint-Nectaire – silky red fruit and gentle earthiness mirror the cheese’s soft, rustic character while keeping the pairing elegant and balanced
- Banyuls with Roquefort – rich black fruit, cocoa and sweetness create a classic contrast to the salty, spicy depth of this iconic blue cheese
