The Henriot family settles in Champagne in 1640 and begins producing cloth before quickly adding wine to their activities. After purchasing land, the family learns about viticulture and becomes experts on their terroirs. Fast forward to 1080, Apolline Henriot created the first Henriot cuvée (now known as Henriot Brut Souverain) after founding the House Maison Henriot. The Henriot’s library wine collection kept beingn expanded, and today the House continues to produce world-famous sparkling of outstanding quality and serves as the Champagne region’s protector and promoter.
Henriot Blanc de Blancs was created as a tribute to Chardonnay – a grape variety that joined the Maison Hanriot’s vineyards in 1880, – and is a blend of all Chardonnay-planted vineyards expressed through different stages of life.
This Champagne offers great generosity. The blend’s diverse wine selection provides an aromatic range in which boldness is balanced by elegance and finesse. Multiple aromas intertwine to add complexity, ranging from flambé pineapple and fresh citrus fruit notes to wet chalk and subtle pastry aromas. This Champagne has an incredibly velvety texture on the palate, accompanied by an extraordinary freshness.
Food pairing suggestion: Why not go with a classic lobster with garlic butter?
Did you know? Gilles de Larouzière Henriot, President of Maisons et Domaines Henriot and Representative of the family’s 8th generation, launched the Alliance Terroirs project in 2020 with Alice Tétienne, Cellar Master of Maison Henriot. Through this project, the House is adapting its viticulture practices to benefit the vine and its quality, as well as the environment. It takes positive steps to reduce its environmental impact and works with partners to do so. The House promotes biodiversity, contributes to vineyard beautification, and aids in the research and development of new tools.
