The Bridge 2015 is a strikingly elegant yet powerful Cabernet Sauvignon, crafted from a cool-climate site that brings structure, purity and refined intensity. This vintage showcases concentration without excess, combining depth and precision with beautifully layered aromatics. It’s a wine of restraint, poise and longevity: full-bodied, richly textured and bottled without fining or filtration to preserve every detail. Now perfectly entering its ideal drinking window, it remains one of the most impressive red wines in the Ken Forrester stable.
Ken Forrester, The Producer
Though widely known as the “King of Chenin,” Ken Forrester has always believed that great terroir can express itself through red varieties with equal clarity. For The Bridge, Ken sources Cabernet Sauvignon from an exceptional site known for producing fruit of remarkable purity and definition. His philosophy remains the same as in his white wines: minimal interference, natural fermentation, careful ageing and an uncompromising commitment to balance. With 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented with native yeasts and matured in a precise selection of French oak, The Bridge represents Ken’s most serious and structured red, a wine built not for trends, but for time.
About the 2015 Vintage
The 2015 release is concentrated and remarkably focused, offering notes of blackcurrant, redcurrant, liquorice, wood spice, tobacco leaf and earthy undertones. Full-bodied yet elegant, it shows excellent purity and freshness thanks to its cool-site origin. Tannins are firm but polished, shaped by 20 months in oak (33% new, 33% second fill, 33% neutral) and 12 months sur lie. The result is a wine of depth and refinement, with a long, precise finish. With an ABV of 14.7% and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it has both power and integrity — capable of ageing effortlessly from 2020 to 2030.
Food Pairing Suggestion
