The 2008 FMC builds on the early legacy of this now-iconic wine: richer, denser and slightly more opulent than the 2007, yet still impeccably balanced. This vintage shows Chenin Blanc in full splendour: concentrated fruit, layered texture and an ageing trajectory that rivals top-tier Loire whites. It’s golden, generous and deeply expressive, showing how FMC evolved into one of the world’s benchmark Chenin Blancs.
Ken Forrester, The Producer
Ken Forrester’s pursuit of Chenin perfection has always centred on one belief: great wine begins with great farming. Long before the rest of the world caught on, he invested in old vineyards, restricted yields and insisted on minimal interference in the cellar. FMC was his boldest statement: proof that Chenin Blanc could be sensual, powerful and world-class. “Minimal interference” isn’t a marketing line for Ken; it’s the cornerstone of his life’s work. Today, FMC sits comfortably among the world’s most collectible white wines, and the 2008 vintage shows exactly why.
About the 2008 Vintage
The 2008 FMC has evolved into a symphony of baked peach, dried apricot, honeycomb, crème brûlée and toasted hazelnut. The once-lively citrus has softened into preserved lemon and mandarin peel, while the palate is smooth, long and almost silky. A gentle spice note (ginger, clove) lifts the finish. Still beautifully structured, still bright with acidity, still capable of ageing further. A majestic and contemplative wine.
Food Pairing Suggestion
Try it with roast lobster, white truffle pasta or rich chicken dishes with cream and thyme.
