For the past six years, the bar for winemaking in South Australia’s Riverland region has been raised. That’s all done under the competent guidance of award-winning winemaker Alex Russell. A wide variety of premium alternative wines has been produced because of Alex’s drive to make the best possible product and his abundance of knowledge and expertise in the sector, both locally and worldwide.
The Alejandro wine collection takes pride in fusing the best of European flavours with a South Australian touch and promoting uncommon and occasionally overlooked grapes that thrive in the area.
Vermentino and Saperavi, for example, adapt very well to the temperature of the Murray Darling wine-growing region, which resembles that of their ancestral regions. Alejandro Premium Australian Wines are dark and fruit-forward, making them ideal for tapas.
This Saperavi is full of mulberry, dark fruits, fennel, and spice blend flavours, like drinking a rich, dark fruit cake. Deep, tannic, and full-bodied, with plenty of French and American oak to balance off the fruits and spices.
