Once upon a time four friends were sat at a table, drinking and chatting, discussing how Birmingham does not have its own distillery, and that something should be done about that. So, just like that (oh and after much research, completing a million applications, watching videos, drinking a lot of whiskey, and, of course, throw in a worldwide pandemic too), a pipe dream that appeared unattainable began to come true!
Today, having spent the last few months conducting extensive research and development, refining our recipes and procedures, and discovering a tonne of brand-new information, Spirit of Birmingham are producing something truly original, combining magic, art, and science.
Spirit of Birmingham Vodka is a single pot still vodka. Single, as it is manufactured by hand in the local distillery, including hand proofing, hand bottling, and hand labelling. The term “pot” still refers to a mixed grain mash bill rather than our machinery.
Typically, vodka is produced from a single source like potatoes, rye, or wheat. Spirit of Birmingham English Pot still Vodka has a delightful spice, natural sweetness, and rich velvety mouth feel thanks to five grains, each chosen for its own flavour qualities. Whoever said that vodka had no flavour was mistaken.
Beautiful sipping vodka, but producers also strongly recommend to try it in a Martini.
