Tandem Inmune Garnacha: Modern Navarra at Its Best
Tandem are one of the producers who have pushed Navarra forward into one of Spain’s most exciting wine regions. Inmune is their 100% Garnacha: soft, subtle and fruity, with a super silky finish.
Bodega Tandem is a family-owned winery founded in 2003 by José María Fraile and Alicia Eyaralar. It sits in the Valle de Yerri in northern Navarra, about half an hour from Pamplona, with vineyards at 500–700 metres. The Camino de Santiago even runs through the property.
The winery is built into a hillside and moves the wine using gravity rather than pumps, which is gentler on the wine. Tandem farm their own vineyards sustainably, use wild yeasts and bottle without fining or filtration, so you may find a little natural sediment.
Expect crunchy red fruit, raspberry and cherry, with an Atlantic-influenced freshness. The palate is light, juicy and textured, with soft tannins and a silky, elegant finish. It is less oaky than many Spanish reds, so the fruit really shines.
Tandem Inmune Garnacha Food Pairing Suggestion:
Try it with roast chicken, grilled pork chops, chorizo, a mushroom paella or a plate of Spanish cured meats. It is also lovely with a slight chill in summer.
