Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve Personnelle: Alsace Pinot Gris at Its Finest

This is the top Pinot Gris from the highly respected Alsace house of Trimbach. Rarely does Pinot Gris show such enormous depth and rounded texture, and it is one of the best wines of its type made in Alsace.

Trimbach was established in 1626 and is still family-run, based in Ribeauvillé. The family controls every stage, from vineyard to bottle, and is known for its restrained, dry house style: concentrated but never heavy, fruity but not sweet.

Réserve Personnelle is one of Trimbach’s top ranges, a clear step up from its regular wines. The fruit comes mainly from the family’s holdings in the limestone-rich Osterberg vineyard, which gives the wine its depth and mineral backbone.

Expect ripe pear and subtle apricot, with exotic hints of mango, peach and almond blossom. The palate is full-bodied and rounded, with a soft, juicy texture, sleek acidity and a spicy, mineral finish.

Trimbach Pinot Gris Food Pairing Suggestion:

An excellent choice for Asian cuisine, from Thai curries to Peking duck. It is also wonderful with roast pork, foie gras, creamy chicken dishes and mushroom risotto.
