Agricola Punica is an award-winning cellar located in a south-west of a sunny Italian island – Sardinia. The Barrua is a mental journey to this island.
The wine is a blend of Carignan, also known as Mazuelo and Cariñena, with Cabernet Sauvignon and a small amount of Merlot. The notes of liquorice, tobacco, black pepper and myrtle are prominent, tannins are fine and balanced by refreshing acidity, making it a complex, well-rounded, savoury wine. After 18 months in french oak and 12 months in a bottle, the wine is optimally matured and ready to be enjoyed.
Food pairing ideas: slow cooked beef brisket.
Did you know? The winery is a project by Giacomo Tachis – a famous Italian winemaker who worked for the Antinori house, among others.
