Description
Our favourite event of the year is back. Join us at Millennium Point for the Birmingham Christmas Wine Fair — part wine festival, part Christmas party, and a gloriously boozy afternoon (and evening) of tasting, chatting and getting properly into the festive spirit.
We’ll have around 250 wines and spirits for you to try, gathered from producers, importers and distillers all over the world and a good few from right here in the Midlands. It’s the perfect excuse to taste things you’d never normally reach for, find something special for the table on Christmas Day, and sort out a few gifts while you’re at it. With more than 30 tables to work your way around and unlimited tastings included, you can take your time, go at your own pace and come back to the ones you love.
The wine
Expect a bit of everything: Champagne and fizz to get things going, crisp whites, elegant rosés, orange wines, big warming reds, and all the lovely festive fortified stuff — Port, Sherry and a few dessert wines to finish. Old World classics sit next to exciting New World bottles, trusted favourites next to the more unusual things our team couldn’t resist bringing along.
The people pouring — producers, importers and our own Loki lot — are there to chat, tell you the story behind the bottle and point you towards something you’ll love. You don’t need to know a thing about wine to enjoy it. It’s relaxed, friendly and just as much fun whether it’s your first tasting or your fiftieth.
And the spirits
It’s not all about the wine. There’s a curated spread of spirits too — artisan gins, aged rums, whiskies and whiskeys from all sorts of places, Cognacs, liqueurs and a few festive oddities worth seeking out. It’s a lovely low-pressure way to compare a few styles, discover a new distillery and ask all your questions without committing to a full bottle. Great for finding a present, too.
Take a few bottles home
Found something you can’t live without? Look out for our exclusive fair offers on selected wines and spirits at special event prices. No need to lug it all home on the day either — just arrange collection or delivery afterwards and keep your hands free for another glass.
Something to eat
You can’t taste all afternoon on an empty stomach. The wonderful Anderson & Hill deli will be with us again with a gorgeous selection of artisan cheeses, and there’ll be a pizza stand serving up something fresh and hot. Grab a seat, have a breather between tables and compare notes with your mates.
Two sessions to choose from
There are two three-hour sessions, so you can pick whichever suits you best. We keep numbers limited so there’s always room to move around and time to natter with the folks behind the tables. These fairs do tend to sell out, so it’s well worth grabbing your tickets early — the early birds get the best price, too.
Millennium Point is easy to find, right in Birmingham’s Eastside — five minutes from Moor Street, a short walk from the tram, with a bit of parking on site if you’re driving (you realy shouldn’t!).
Come and celebrate the start of the festive season with us at Birmingham’s biggest Christmas wine festival. Great drinks, great food, great company — we’d love to see you there.
