The various brands and properties that fall under the Boekenhoutskloof umbrella were created with inspiration from Marc Kent, managing partner and technical director of the company. He is not averse to trying something new, but his major commitment is to excellence at all times and in all circumstances.
The best Syrah grapes are hand-picked from the Swartland farms, Porseleinberg and Goldmine, – close to the sleepy village of Riebeek-Kasteel, making this red. Structured wines exhibit the distinctive terroir of these vines, growing on the rocky bedrock of decomposed Mica-Schist.
This is a delicate, layered wine with flavours of bramble, blackberry, and goji berry. Aromas of violet, blackcurrants, iris flower, herbs, and five-spice. It is silky, fragrant, and expertly oaked.
Food pairing suggestion: Charcuterie.
