About the Producer
Founded in 1829 in the heart of Aÿ, Champagne Bollinger is one of the most prestigious and enduring houses in Champagne. Still family-owned and fiercely independent, Bollinger has built its reputation on a bold, vinous style that reflects both its exceptional terroir and unwavering dedication to quality. The estate owns over 180 hectares of vineyards, the majority of which are Grand and Premier Cru sites, an unusually high proportion that allows Bollinger to control the entire winemaking process from vine to bottle.
Bollinger is renowned for its use of Pinot Noir, which gives its wines their signature structure and power. The house ferments in oak barrels, ages its reserve wines in magnums under natural cork, and allows extended maturation in its historic cellars, techniques that have earned it an elite status among Champagne connoisseurs. In 1884, Bollinger received a Royal Warrant from Queen Victoria, and it remains one of the few Champagne houses to hold this distinction today. The wines have consistently earned critical acclaim, with Special Cuvée regularly receiving 90+ point scores from major wine publications for its depth, consistency, and complexity.
Bollinger Champagne – James Bond Heritage
The Special Cuvée 007 Limited Edition marks over 45 years of Champagne Bollinger’s iconic partnership with the James Bond franchise. First appearing on screen in Moonraker (1979) and mentioned even earlier in Ian Fleming’s Diamonds Are Forever (1956), Bollinger has become the Champagne of choice for 007, synonymous with sophistication, intrigue, and timeless style.
This 2025 release is presented in a striking black collector’s box inspired by the hypnotic gun barrel sequence that opens each Bond film. A radiant gold barrel motif frames Bond’s silhouette at the centre, set against a luxurious black-and-gold palette with subtle metallic embossing. The iconic 007 logo and Bollinger’s gold lettering underscore the exclusivity of this limited edition, making it a collector’s piece as much as a fine wine.
Bollinger Special Cuvée 007 Limited Edition, Tasting Notes
Bollinger Special Cuvée is a masterclass in balance, depth, and elegance. Crafted predominantly from Pinot Noir, with Chardonnay and Meunier for finesse and lift, it offers an expressive nose of ripe orchard fruits, roasted hazelnuts, brioche, and a hint of spice. The palate is rich and creamy, unfolding layers of apple, pear, honey, and toasty complexity, all balanced by a vibrant, persistent freshness. The finish is long, refined, and unmistakably Bollinger, complex yet effortlessly elegant.
Interesting fact: 2025 also marks the 40th anniversary of A View to a Kill (1985), in which Bollinger features prominently at Zorin’s château – another cinematic moment in this unique, decades-long alliance.
Food Pairing Suggestion: Sylvain Sendra, a passionate Michelin-starred chef, recommends to pair this Champagne with Truffled scallop carpaccio.
