Because the owner Simon Robinson didn’t consider rosé to be a “real wine,” he didn’t want to produce it at first. But when the winemaker Emma was named the winner of the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championship Award for “Best Vintage Rosé in the World” he quickly changed his mind! Ironically, this wine is now Simon’s favourite in the lineup and Emma’s favourite to create, so we have a good feeling you’ll enjoy it too.
This rosé is made from a blend of carefully selected Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, and Pinot Précoce grapes, each contributing unique characteristics to the final blend. The grapes are hand-harvested at optimum ripeness to ensure the highest quality fruit.
Hattingley Rosé has a very delicate shade of light pink. With a hint of pomegranate on the nose, bright red fruit like strawberries and raspberries aromas, and pink grapefruit flavours complemented by a hint of sweet marshmallow, this wine is delicate but with a great structure and an oak element creaminess. Drinking very well now, but keep it for another few years and witness how it improves and matures.
