Without doubt, Ben Rye is one of Italy’s finest dessert wines. Golden in hue, lusciously sweet, and bristling with aromas of golden sultanas.
Grapes are being very carefully selected. In fact, it takes over a month to pick the healthiest and the most ripe fruit. To achieve the concentrated fruit flavours the grapes, still on bunches, are being air-dried and added to the fermentation vessels in small proportions to ensure flavour consistency. The juice is then matured without oak to preserve the fresh fruit aromas.
The wine has a great ageing potential of around 10 years.
Food pairing suggestions: enjoy with autumn crumble, foie gras, and, of course, blue cheeses.
Did you know? Ben Ryé stands for ‘son of the wind’ in arabis, and it refers to islands extreme wind conditions.
