Greywacke is Kevin Judd’s own label, created after decades spent helping shape the reputation of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The name comes from the greywacke river stones found throughout the region’s vineyards, a small nod to the landscape that gives these wines their distinctive character. This is Sauvignon Blanc with serious pedigree, but it still feels wonderfully easy to enjoy.

What makes Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc stand out is its balance. It has the punchy aromatics and crisp freshness Marlborough is famous for, but it never feels shouty or one-dimensional. Instead, it is layered, vivid and beautifully put together, with ripe fruit, herbal lift and a clean, mineral edge.

In the glass, expect lively notes of passion fruit, lime, grapefruit and gooseberry, with hints of fresh herbs, elderflower and a little tomato leaf. It is dry, bright and zesty, with juicy tropical fruit, mouth-watering acidity and a long, refreshing finish. Fresh enough to wake up your palate, but rounded enough to keep you coming back for another glass.

Greywacke Sauvignon Blanc Food Pairing Suggestion:

This is brilliant with seafood, especially prawns, crab, oysters or mussels with garlic, lime and coriander. It also works beautifully with goat’s cheese salad, asparagus, Thai green curry, Vietnamese-style chicken salad or anything with plenty of herbs and citrus.
