Giuseppe, Olimpia, and Agostino Rizzardi represent the latest generation of Guerrieri Rizzardi, which history goes back to the 15th century. The new eco-winery, which is the company’s headquarters and a wonderful synthesis of the old and the new, was finished on the hills of Bardolino in 2011 with the help of their enormous enthusiasm for wine and love of the region. The Amarone Calcarole was the first wine from the region to ever receive Gambero Rosso’s Red Wine of the Year award in 2014. The tale goes on from there.
Guerrieri Rizzardi Lugana is a crisp white wine of the Venetian tradition is produced solely from the Turbiana grape (also known as Trebbiano di Lugana). It is subtle, elegant, and mineral.
Trebbiano di Lugana grapes were formerly abundantly grown in the region surrounding Peschiera del Garda. In numerous vineyards near San Benedetto di Lugana, where the subsoil is rich in white clay, grapes are planted using the guyot technique. The grapes are crushed, fermented in stainless steel tanks after selection and harvest, and then refined on the lees for two to three months before the wine is ready to be bottled.
The palate is silky smooth, rich in texture, with intense fruit flavours, fine acidity, and a long-lasting finish following engaging, alluring aromas of flower and stone fruit.
Food pairing suggestion: Luccio alla gardesana.
