Les Mougeottes Pinot Noir is not overly complex – but it doesn’t need to be! It’s approachable and fresh; medium-bodied red, showing the classic cherry and raspberry notes of Pinot Noir. Great mid-week lighter style red.

Languedoc-Roussillon is emerging as a top-value wine location for wine lovers on a budget.

Vineyards in the Languedoc are frequently referred to as “patchwork” since so many distinct grape varietals coexist there. But alongside rich Cabernets and Malbecs, Les Mougettos managed to produce a beautifully fresh Pinot Noir.

A fine Pinot Noir requires grapes that are at their optimal ripeness. The variety’s delicate character should be preserved by keeping the sugar content relatively low, even when the full aromatic potential has already been achieved. To make this happen, a portion of the crop is picked very early and fermented at low temperatures, releasing fruity aromas. The other, fully ripe part undergoes a traditional, extended maceration. A third of the wine is aged in French oak barrels for several months, which gives the wine depth.

Food pairing suggestion: Rabbit au-vin.

I bought this Pinot recently, tried it and ordered a case! This wine is crazy cheap but the taste is out of this world. The balance between the fruit and tannins is just perfect. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a tasty, easy drinking Pinot Noir without breaking the bank.

I recently purchased a bottle of Mougeottes Pinot Noir and I was impressed with its quality. The wine had a rich, smooth and velvety texture with delicate notes of cherry, plum and a hint of vanilla. The balance of fruit and tannins was spot on, making it a perfect accompaniment for a variety of dishes. I highly recommend this wine for anyone looking for a delicious Pinot. The price is also quite reasonable, making it an excellent value for money!
