Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve, Producer
Founded in 1626, the family-owned Maison Trimbach in Ribeauvillé, Alsace, is firmly established among the region’s great producers. The house focuses on dry, mineral-driven wines that reflect the terroir of Alsace’s historic vineyards. Their Réserve range (of which this Pinot Gris is a part) comes from rigorous selection of vineyards around Ribeauvillé and its environs.
Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve, Terroir & Winemaking
The Pinot Gris for this wine is sourced from old vineyards on well-drained soils in the Ribeauvillé area. Vinified to complete dryness in temperature-controlled stainless-steel and concrete vats, the wine undergoes no malolactic fermentation, a choice that preserves natural acidity and enhances minerality. After fermentation, the wine remains in cellar for a minimum of three years before release, allowing complexity and structure to develop.
Trimbach Pinot Gris Réserve, Tasting Notes
This Pinot Gris Réserve opens with ripe aromas of yellow peach, pear and a hint of tropical fruit, layered under subtle smokiness and nutty character. On the palate it is full-bodied yet precise, with a dry finish that carries mineral tension and savoury depth; think of smoke, wet stone and quince underpinning the fruit.
Food Pairing Suggestion: Ideal with rich white meats, mushroom dishes, spiced Asian fare or even trout with almond-butter sauce. Its bold texture and mineral core make it an elegant gastronomic white.
