Nestled on the steep, pink-granite slopes of Le Perréon in Beaujolais-Villages, the brothers Olivier and Bruno Bererd manage Domaine de la Madone with organic farming, extremely old Gamay vines (many over 75 years old), and an eye for elegance. Their vineyards are so steep that tractors can’t enter, meaning grapes are hand-harvested at 30-to-40° inclines, preserving site specificity and freshness.

The Madone hillside’s decomposed pink granite soils give character to the Gamay grapes, offering both bright fruit and mineral underpinning. For the 2025 Nouveau, the tone is one of sincerity and spontaneity: vinified quickly after harvest to capture the grape’s youthful vibrancy, this style retains natural freshness and immediacy. Minimal ageing means the wine is all about raw Gamay energy and purity.

Pouring a vivid ruby red, this Nouveau bursts with aromas of ripe red berries: think strawberry, raspberry and red cherry, with hints of wild herbs and fresh-cut flowers.
