A Mano Fiano is a fresh and expressive white wine from southern Italy, produced in the sunny region of Puglia. Made from the historic Fiano grape variety, this wine combines Mediterranean richness with vibrant acidity, offering an approachable yet characterful style. Bright, aromatic, and easy to enjoy, it captures the warmth and relaxed spirit of southern Italian winemaking while maintaining elegance and freshness.
A Mano Fiano, Producer
A Mano was founded by winemakers Mark Shannon and Elvezia Sbalchiero, whose philosophy centres on producing authentic wines that reflect the traditions and terroir of Puglia. The winery works closely with local growers and old vineyards, focusing on minimal intervention and careful vineyard management to preserve fruit purity. A Mano has become well known for crafting modern Italian wines with personality, balancing ripe southern fruit with freshness and precision.
A Mano Fiano, Terroir & Winemaking
The Fiano grapes are grown in vineyards across Puglia, where warm days and cooling coastal influences help develop aromatic intensity while retaining natural acidity. The region’s limestone and clay-rich soils contribute both texture and minerality to the wine. After harvest, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented at controlled temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve freshness and delicate aromatics. The wine is then aged briefly on fine lees, adding softness and subtle complexity before bottling.
A Mano Fiano, Tasting Notes
A Mano Fiano opens with inviting aromas of white flowers, ripe pear, peach, and citrus zest, alongside delicate hints of Mediterranean herbs and almond. On the palate, it is smooth and refreshing, with flavours of stone fruit, lemon, and a touch of honeyed richness balanced by crisp acidity. The finish is clean, lightly mineral, and pleasantly rounded, making it an excellent match for seafood, grilled vegetables, light pasta dishes, and fresh cheeses.
Food pairing suggestion: Grilled octopus with lemon, olive oil, and oregano.
