The Adrianna Catena Fortuna Terrae Malbec originates from the esteemed Adrianna Vineyard, epitomising the distinctive and outstanding characteristics of the Mendoza region.
“Fortuna Terrae,” translating to “luck of the land” in Latin, aptly describes the ‘fortunate’ nature of the vines in this section of the Adrianna Vineyard. The fertile loamy soils sustain a rich diversity of indigenous grasses, preventing erosion while attracting beneficial insects, melodious birds, and mountain foxes. Benefitting from the freshness fostered by deep soils and high altitude, the wines of Fortuna Terrae boast optimal acidity and delicate floral aromas. It’s recommended to enjoy this wine several years, or even decades, after its harvest.
The wines inky purple hue hints at the depth of flavour. The nose offers an enticing blend of ripe blackberries, plums, and dark cherries, intertwined with subtle hints of violet, vanilla, and a touch of mocha. These aromas anticipate the sumptuous palate experience that follows.
On the palate, this Malbec strikes a perfect balance between strength and grace. Ripe fruit flavours take centre stage, with layers of black fruit, cassis, and a hint of blueberry, accompanied by nuances of dark chocolate and seamlessly integrated oak. 2020 Vintage
This wine undergoes a thorough cold maceration process at temperatures below 10ºC to extract its aromatic qualities. Following this, the juice is fermented for approximately 13-19 days, with an additional post-fermentation maceration period lasting around 8-12 days. It is then aged for 14-18 months in French Oak barrels. 2020 was an extremely good vintage.
