Dr Eamers’ Prescription Strength Gin

A distillery in the Black Country named Dr Eamer opened its doors in 2017. The distillery was run out of the founder’s home until they quickly gained popularity and regonition and found a permanent location. Dudley now produces limited batches of delicious hand-crafted spirits.

Their main principles have always been to manufacture the best products with a truly handcrafted method by using the best materials they can locate. In order for everyone on the team to gain a deeper understanding of the trade, they have the opportunity to distil spirits alongside the main distillor.

Dr. Eamers’ Prescription Strength Dry Gin is bottled at “proof” strength but using the same distillation process as our Traditionally Distilled Dry Gin. It’s named so because, between the 1700s and 1800s, Navy ships would first pour spirit over the gunpowder to check if it was still ignited. If it did, it would be considered “evidence,” but only if the spirit is at least 57%vol.

Due to the high volume of botanicals used in the distillation and the fact that it is only blended with water after distillation to proof to 57%vol, the flavour profile in this Gin is exquisite, the spirit is beautifully smooth, and when mixed with an Indian Tonic water creates a subtle “louche” or clouding of the spirit.
