The Greywacke company, producing wines since 2009, is run by a small, committed team out of Greywacke HQ in the heart of Marlborough’s Omaka Valley, with the motto “keep it simple and hands-on.” To fully utilise the opportunities provided by the warm, sunny South Pacific climate of Marlborough, the fruit is sourced from established vineyards in prime viticultural locations.
2014 was an early harvest that produced excellent wines. Imagine a linseed, tarragon, and delicately smoked tea-laced almond friand filled with white nectarine, blood orange, and rockmelon. This alternative style, which is both complex and textured, was produced by fermenting Sauvignon Blanc exclusively with natural wild yeast.
