The Kaiken estate vineyards are strategically located in both the central area of Mendoza and the southern region of the Uco Valley, a sought-after area for premium fruit sourcing among many renowned producers. With a primary focus on Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon, the grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Agrelo zone, positioned 40 kilometers south of Mendoza city and nestled at an elevation of 950 meters above sea level. Compared to the Uco Valley, the region experiences a slightly warmer climate, enabling Kaiken to harvest grapes imbued with vibrant fruit aromas and flavours, alongside velvety, fully ripened tannins.
Merlot, however, stands as a flagship wine for this producer, offering a testament to their commitment to excellence. Set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Andes Mountains, the vineyards exude an old-world charm that captivates all who visit.
This Merlot captivates the senses with prominent fragrances of cassis and red berry jam, accented by subtle spicy undertones. Exhibiting a robust structure with firm tannins, it culminates in a lingering finish that beckons for another sip.
Food pairing suggestion: Pork tenderloin in red wine sauce.
