Presented in magnum, the 2018 FMC is a powerhouse: dense, luxurious and tightly wound, with immense ageing potential. Chenin Blanc thrives in large formats, and the magnum elevates everything: the precision, the freshness, the longevity. This is FMC in its most collectible state, built not just for drinking but for holding.
Ken Forrester, The Producer
Ken Forrester’s decades-long devotion to Chenin Blanc has reshaped South Africa’s white wine landscape. By the time he released the 2018 FMC, the wine was already recognised internationally as one of the finest expressions of the grape anywhere in the world. Ken’s philosophy remains brutally simple: extraordinary grapes, minimal manipulation. The result? Wines of purity, gravitas and character; none more so than FMC in magnum, where time works even more gracefully.
About the 2018 Vintage
2018 was a warm, dry vintage producing concentrated berries with thick skins and excellent fruit intensity. Expect layers of pineapple confit, ripe pear, orange blossom, honeyed quince and warm vanilla spice. The palate is powerful yet perfectly controlled, with bright acidity cutting through the richness. The magnum format keeps it even fresher and more youthful: and it will continue to evolve for a decade or more.
Food Pairing Suggestion
Perfect with poached turbot, duck liver parfait or roasted cauliflower with brown butter.
Did you know?
