Dominik Huber, a co-founder of Terroir al Limit, purchased a four-hectare tract as part of another sale in 2016. This led to the creation of Terroir Sense Fronteres. This piece of land is located just a few hundred metres away from his property in Priorat, the Montsant DO. Dominik was thrilled to find 75-year-old Grenache vines growing in red clay and gypsum amphitheatre on his first visit. Freed from Priorat’s strict rules, he began crafting contemporary, ethereal wines with astounding clarity and accuracy.
Sense of Terroir Fronteres was founded on a mission to capture the distinctive minerality and character of Montsant and to use the unique Grenache vines that thrive there to liquidly express the restraint and freshness of the difficult hills that surround Priorat.
Vertebra is 100% Grenache Noir, with notes of licorice and fresh woodland herbs mingling with aromas of smokey black cherries, juicy blackberries, and crunchy pomegranate. A thrilling trip of sun-soaked fruits, chalky chilly evenings, and incredible structural concentration greets the delicate palate as it opens. The wine has a lingering acidity that flows through it like an underground stream just below the surface. The well-structured body is shaped and refined into the epitome of fineness by delicate tannins.
Food pairing suggestion: we are convinced that it’s made for smoky grilled pork tenderloin.
