Vigneti del Vulture Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture is a red wine produced in the Basilicata region of southern Italy, specifically in the area surrounding the extinct volcano Mount Vulture. This wine is made from the Aglianico grape, which is known for producing full-bodied, complex red wines with high acidity and tannins.

In the glass, Vigneti del Vulture Pipoli Aglianico del Vulture presents a deep ruby colour with purple highlights. The nose is intense, with aromas of dark fruit, black cherry, plum, and hints of vanilla and spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied with a firm structure, high acidity, and ripe tannins. Flavours of dark fruit, blackberry, and blackcurrant are complemented by notes of vanilla, chocolate, and a hint of black pepper.

Overall, this wine is a complex and well-balanced red wine that showcases the unique terroir of the Basilicata region and the skill of its winemakers. It is a great choice for those looking to explore the diversity and quality of Italian wines.

This is one of our best-selling red wines, and no surprise as when customers try it they usually come back for more. The fruit is lovely and fresh, with delicate tannins and a lovely fruit sweetness that makes this a massive crowd-pleasing wine.

Food pairing suggestion: This wine is a great match for hearty dishes such as grilled meats, stews, and game, as well as aged cheeses.

  1. Oliver Walker

Dry, earthy, hints of cherry, spice, vanilla. I liked it a lot.

  2. Andrew Miles

Very much red fruits and cherries with light tanning that went vanilla soft very quickly with a reasonable linger in the mouth. Good on its own or with venison pie and chips. Not over powering on its own but enough body not to get lost with food. A beautiful colour too.
