The grapes for our Franschhoek Cabernet Sauvignon are selected from separate vineyards that are planted next to one another and cultivated in the valley’s deep alluvial soils, as well as from estate own farm vineyards, which are situated on degraded Granitic soils on slopes around Boekenhoutskloof. Since they were planted, the Boekenhoutskloof Cabernet Sauvignon and a tiny section of Cabernet Franc vineyards have been organically cultivated and consistently produce fruit of the highest calibre. This vintage is very exciting since the producers chose to use even more fruit from these vineyards that practice organic farming.

The aroma presents a delicate yet captivating complexity, featuring traditional black fruit notes intertwined with graphite and an appealing herbaceous undertone, while simultaneously revealing intricate exotic spice nuances. On the palate, the elegant blue fruit flavours taking centre stage. Layers of black currant, red liquorice, fresh figs, along with subtle hints of clay dust and leather, add depth to this impeccably crafted wine, which exhibits precise seamless integration and a notable tension. Medium to full-bodied, it carries a refreshing acidity complemented by supple cocoa powder-like tannins. The finish is poised, characterized by lingering impressions of pencil lead and restrained spicy French oak.
