Though Ken is most famous for Chenin Blanc, he has a long-standing love of Rhône varieties: Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, and their ability to thrive in the Cape. Renegade was created to express this passion: a blend that defies categorisation, made with minimal intervention and a touch of renegade spirit. In Ken’s words, “These grapes just want to be wild.” The 2015 magnum shows his Rhône sensibilities at their peak.
About the 2015 Vintage
This exceptional Cape vintage brings ripe blackberries, plum compote, violets, black pepper, smoked herbs and subtle oak spice. With age, secondary notes of leather, dried lavender and forest floor emerge. The palate is full-bodied yet elegant, with softened tannins and long, warming finish. A wine built to age, especially in magnum.
