Torbreck Old Vines GSM

Torbreck Old Vines GSM

Torbreck’s Old Vines GSM is a rich and expressive blend from Australia’s Barossa Valley, combining Grenache, Shiraz, and Mourvèdre. This wine showcases the depth and complexity achievable from some of the region’s oldest vineyards.

Producer
Torbreck Vintners, established in 1994 in the Barossa Valley, is renowned for its dedication to old-vine vineyards and Rhône varietals. The winery’s name pays homage to a forest in Scotland, reflecting its founder’s heritage. With a focus on traditional winemaking techniques and sustainable practices, Torbreck has cemented its reputation for producing wines that are both powerful and elegant.

Terroir & Winemaking
Sourced from ancient vines across sub-regions like Marananga, Gomersal, and Ebenezer, the grapes benefit from the Barossa’s warm climate and diverse soils. Each varietal contributes uniquely: Grenache offers bright red fruit and spice, Shiraz adds depth and structure, while Mourvèdre brings earthy undertones. The wine is aged in seasoned oak barrels, allowing the fruit’s character to shine through.

Tasting Notes
Expect a bouquet of ripe strawberries, blackberries, and hints of black olive, complemented by notes of pepper and sweet spice. The palate is full-bodied yet smooth, with a harmonious blend of fruit and savoury elements, leading to a lingering finish.
