Portuguese wines are something that we really focus on at the moment, they offer incredible quality and value.
Casa Ferreirinha Papa Figos Douro Tinto is a premium red wine produced in the Douro Valley, one of the most prestigious wine regions in Portugal. The Papa Figos wine is made by Casa Ferreirinha, one of the oldest and most respected Port houses in the region, known for producing high-quality wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Douro Valley.
Papa Figos wine is a blend of traditional Portuguese grape varieties, including Touriga Franca and Tempranillo. On the nose, Casa Ferreirinha Papa Figos Douro Tinto has aromas of ripe dark fruit, such as blackberries and plums, as well as floral notes and hints of spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, with flavours of dark fruit, chocolate, and vanilla, as well as a hint of smokiness. The wine has a long, smooth finish with well-integrated tannins and balanced acidity.
This wine won best Portuguese wine at International Wine Challenge this year, and whilst being soft and fruity, also is packed full of flavour.
Food pairing suggestion: slow-roasted lamb shoulder with garlic and olive oil.
Alice –
Love Papa Figos wine – cheap and super cheerful! Tastes so good and the price is criminally low for this. Even my extremely wine-snobby husband happily drinks this wine on some occasions!
